April 26, 2024 JOB SUMMARYAdministers routine customer service function; provides community relations outreach and support to MST customers andstakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvides transit information via phone, internet, person-to-person, TDD Machine and relay calls.
Sells bus passes/ticket books,processes balances and audits credit card and cash transactions.
Processes the incoming and outgoing mail and delivery ofinteroffice mail.
Provides bi-lingual (Spanish/English) translation services for incoming customer service calls, public hearings, MSTboard meetings, and others as needed.
Provides bi-lingual (Spanish/English) translation service on request for other departmentswith correspondence or public information items.
Translates (Spanish/English) MST public information or media information.
Receives and maintains records on lost and found items.
Records customer compliments and complaints and routes them to theappropriate MST staff member.
Processes Courtesy Cards for disabled customers and seniors.
Provides information to customersabout submitting RIDES applications.
Provides staffing at special events and community outreach programs on evenings andweekends, as needed.
Provides assistance with processing and printing MST-issued identification cards for mobility programs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGETransit service, fares, routes, and schedules; MST policies and procedures; safety procedures; office practices and procedures;proper telephone etiquette; proper grammar.
SKILLSInterpersonal communications; effectively communicating in situations requiring tact and poise; intermediate computerapplications; ability to perform all required duties of CSR; bilingual oral and written English/Spanish required.
ABILITYEstablish and maintain quality standards; proofread; write clearly and concisely; use office programs (Word, Excel, Access) andkeyboard at 40 words per minute; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSEducation and experience equivalent to completion of high school and a minimum of two years customer service experience and/orany combination of education and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must have had previousexperience in an office environment, office practices, procedures; Cash handling experience.
May occasionally work extended hoursor hours outside of the regular schedule to include some weekends and holidays.
Good driving record; possess valid Californiadriver's license at the time of application; In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, must be prepared tooffer documents to support employment eligibility.
Proof of Covid vaccination is required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
