A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL OFFICE MANAGER As an office manager, you play an essential role in the day-to-day management of your assigned staff.
Working collaboratively with staff and physicians, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth operational flow of our office and maintaining excellent customer service.
You provide the appropriate training and education to keep your staff up to date on policies and procedures as well as continuously motivate them to put forth their best effort each day.
Whenever patient concerns are brought to your attention, you promptly communicate with the appropriate staff member or physician to resolve them.
You also perform a variety of administrative functions for your staff, including scheduling, processing time-off requests as well as assigning the appropriate coverage, tracking attendance, managing performance reviews, and conducting interviews.
In addition, you monitor staff workload to fairly distribute tasks and ensure the timely and efficient flow of patients from the lobby to their exam rooms is maintained.
Keeping constant communication with the physicians and your administrative team, you make sure that everyone is on the same page regarding patient wait times and statuses.
You ensure that equipment and materials are always used in a safe and acceptable manner.
When needed, you maintain relationships with contractors and outside facilities while maintaining a professional demeanor that reflects the values of our company.
You also observe strict confidentiality when dealing with private information regarding both patients and staff.

years of experience working in a medical office environment 3
years of management experience Knowledge and experience with EMR Excellent customer service skills Knowledge about medical terminology would be a plus but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.
